Jalmus Web Site |
This game gives you some random exercises to train to read rhythms. You can either use the key "SPACE" or a MIDI keyboard connected to your computer. A MIDI keyboard is required to use all the features of Jalmus. We are affiliated with two International Music Cyberstore Thomann.de for Europe and Zzounds for United States and Canada. If you are interested you can look at this selection of the best MIDI keyboards. Before you begin you must set the latency and speed of the cursor in the "the reading rhythm Preferences". Select only the quarter notes with largo tempo. Then give the beats with the metronome : - increase the latency until the first four red points are superposed (for four beats of metronome alone) - change the speed of the cursor if you see that points move forward more and more Your settings are then saved for next use. Rhythm preferences - To select the type of the game :
- To select the rhythms used in the exercises - To on/off metronome sound (except for the first measure that sets the tempo) or activate the sound corresponding to your answers, knowing that the latency makes this option difficult to use. Green dots appear if you give the rhythm at the right moment, orange dots if you release the note too early (only with MIDI keyboard) and red dots if you give wrong rhythm. |
